Overview Entry Requirements Getting There Getting Around Quick Facts

Entry Requirements

Traveling to the Philippines is smooth and simple, but there are basic requirements to prepare for.

Key Requirements

  • eTravel Registration: All travelers must complete the eTravel digital declaration card within 72 hours (3 days) prior to your arrival into or departure from the Philippines.
  • Visa-Free Entry: Nationals from the following countries are allowed to enter the Philippines without a visa for an initial stay of thirty (30) days.
  • Visa-Required Entry: Nationals from countries outside of the visa-exemption category are required to secure a visa prior to entering the Philippines.
    • Applicants for a temporary visitor’s visa should apply at the Philippine Embassy or Consulate that has jurisdiction over their place of residence.
    • To learn more about how to get a Philippine tourist visa, you may visit the Department of Foreign Affairs website.
  • Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended period of stay.
  • Outbound Ticket: You must show proof of outbound travel within 30 days—even if you plan to extend your stay later.

Health and COVID Protocols

  • Fully Vaccinated Travelers: No pre-departure COVID test is required.
  • Unvaccinated Travelers (15+): Must present a negative rapid antigen test taken within 24 hours before departure, or take one upon arrival.
  • Minors: Accompanied minors follow the protocols of their guardian; unaccompanied minors must follow testing rules.

Financial Requirements

  • Immigration may ask for proof of funds equivalent to ₱10,000 per month of stay or its foreign currency equivalent.
  • Acceptable Documents: Common forms of proof include:
    • Bank Statements: Recent bank statements showing stable balances over the past 3–6 months.
    • Employment Letters: Documents confirming your income and job status.
    • Affidavit of Support: A legal document promising financial support from a sponsor.
    • Fixed Deposits: Certificates showing fixed amounts in savings or investment accounts.

Extending Your Stay

  • Eligibility: Foreign nationals who entered the Philippines on a visa-free basis.
  • If you initially entered with a 30-day visa exemption, you can apply for a tourist visa extension through the Bureau of Immigration.
  • Extensions are typically granted in 29-day increments, and longer stays may require an ACR I-Card (Alien Certificate of Registration).
