Subic Bay International Airport is a civilian airport located in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, designed for both commercial and general aviation purposes.
Subic Bay International Airport is situated in Morong, Bataan and Olongapo, Zambales, within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
It was originally part of the former U.S. Subic Naval Base, one of the largest overseas American military installations, which was converted for civilian use after the U.S. military withdrawal in 1992.
The airport features:
- A single runway capable of handling commercial jets and cargo aircraft.
- Passenger terminals for domestic and occasional international flights.
- Facilities to support cargo, private, and charter flights, making it versatile for business and tourism purposes.
- Ground transportation services including taxis, buses, and car rentals connecting to Subic Bay Freeport Zone and nearby cities.
Currently, the airport primarily serves domestic flights, although there have been efforts to attract international carriers. Various charter services and seasonal flights may be available, depending on demand.
Airlines operating in the past included Cebu Pacific, Phillippine Airlines, and others for select routes. |
