Hinulugang Taktak features well-maintained facilities that visitors can enjoy, which include viewing decks that provide excellent vantage points of the waterfall, picnic areas for family gatherings, a swimming pool for kids, and clean restrooms.
Before setting out to discover what else the park had to offer, we stayed briefly at the falls area to capture fond memories of our visit while at the main view deck.
As we left the falls area, we faced two choices: head directly to the far end of the park, or take the bridge that connects to the opposite side of the river.
We decided to first explore what lay beyond the bridge.
The concrete bridge extends over a shallow stream, and leads into a lush, green forested area with tall trees providing ample shade. On the far side of the bridge is a stone embankment lined with shaded picnic huts with benches, arranged in a row along the water’s edge.
On the right side of the bridge can be seen the onset of the stream, which originates from the falls’ natural basin.
On the left side of the bridge, the stream stretches out to the far end of the park.
The center of the bridge provides another vantage point of the waterfall.
Across the bridge lies a paved walkway adorned with green railings running alongside the embankment. I took a moment to admire the shaded picnic huts, each equipped with round tables and benches, providing a peaceful park setting where people can just sit and relax.
The left bank of the stream provided yet another vantage point of the waterfall.
At the far end of the left bank stands a quaint shrine featuring a curved, semi-enclosed design that shelters the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Within the shrine, Mother Mary is portrayed in a blue and yellow robe, positioned on a blue floral-shaped base embellished with cherubims. On either side of the statue are framed religious artworks mounted on the walls, with two glass-shaded lamp posts gracing the front of the shrine.
This tranquil meditation area offered yet another stunning perspective of the waterfall.
Shortly after a quick break at one of the picnic sheds, we set off to discover what lies ahead at the other end of the park.
Just before departing the area, I captured one last image of the falls from the middle of the bridge.
Moments later, we were on the paved pathway heading towards the pool area. Across the river can be seen a stone embankment topped by a pathway lined with more picnic shelters, nestled among tall trees and dense foliage.
Along the way, we came across a suspended bridge that offered an alternative route to cross the stream.
Shortly thereafter, we arrived at the children’s pool area, which features a clean, well-maintained swimming pool surrounded by lush greenery and tall trees.
On one side of the pool stands a water slide in orange and red colors.
Adjacent to the main pool is a smaller circular pool with water features that spray water in arcs. Behind the pools, there are shaded picnic huts where people can relax.
The pool features a generously sized open shower area, and guests can change in the compact green building located at the back, which houses both male and female restrooms.
