Overview Tourism Quick Facts Geography Images

Cordoba, or Cordova, is one of forty-four (44) municipalities (along with nine cities) that comprise the province of Cebu in the Central Visayas. The town is politically subdivided into (13) barangays, and is a part of the 6th Congressional District of Cebu.

Cordoba is an island municipality located just across the southern portion of Lapu-Lapu City in Mactan Island, about 7 kilometers from the Mactan International Airport and 15 kilometers from Cebu City via the Mactan-Mandaue Bridge.

Aside from the main island of Cordoba, the municipality includes under its jurisdiction the satellite islands of Gilutongan and Nalusuan, both within Barangay Gilutongan.

Cordoba is one of six municipalities (along with seven cities) that comprise Metro Cebu. It is a very quiet and secluded area with few infrastructure, but with many new subdivisions promoting expatriate retirement in the Metro Cebu area.

Attractions in the coastal town include Nalusuan Beach and Lawis Beach, both in Gilutungan Island.

There is some confusion regarding its official name, because the municipality itself uses Cordova, while the Philippine Standard Geographic Codes of the National Statistics Coordinating Board lists the municipality’s name as Cordoba.
