Ipil is one of sixteen (16) municipalities that comprise the province of Zamboanga Sibugay in the Zamboanga Peninsula. The town is politically subdivided into twenty-eight (28) barangays, and is a part of the 2nd Congressional District of Zamboanga Sibugay.
