Pasuquin is one of twenty-one (21) municipalities (along with two cities) comprising the province of Ilocos Norte in the Ilocos Region. The town is politically subdivided into thirty-three (33) barangays, and is a part of the 1st Congressional District of Ilocos Norte.
Pasuquin is known for its fine, sandy beaches, with Puyupuyan Beach in Raquiza Cove as the most popular.
Other tourist spots that can be found in the area include the Imelda Gardens at Naan-angri, which is famous for its underground caves, swimming pool and cottages; the 2,000 feet above sea level Paredes Air Station, with its randar and clubhouse; and the old watch tower in barangay Puyupuyan.
Pasuquin is also known for its salt-making industry.
