Solana is one of twenty-eight (28) municipalities (along with one city) that comprise the province of Cagayan in the Cagayan Valley. The town is politically subdivided into thirty-eight (38) barangays, and is a part of the 3rd Congressional District of Cagayan.

Solana has vast fertile agricultural lands and is positioned to become the “Rice Granary of Cagayan” in the near future.
