Sominot (Don Mariano Marcos) is one of twenty-six (26) municipalities (along with one city) that comprise the province of Zamboanga del Sur in the Zamboanga Peninsula. The town is politically subdivided into eighteen (18) barangays, and is a part of the 1st Congressional District of Zamboanga del Sur.
