Capiz is one of six provinces comprising the Western Visayas ( Region VI ).

The province is subdivided into sixteen (16) municipalities and one city, with a total of 473 barangays represented as two congressional districts. The seat of the provincial government is at the capital city of Roxas.

Capiz is known as the Seafood Capital of the Philippines.
