Mount Natib is an inactive volcano and caldera located in Bataan province in western Luzon. It is a well- known place to all Bataanos because of inland resorts present in the area.

To try this trail, you may start trekking from the town of Orani and follow the road to Tala. You will be amazed by the vast green landcover that is really promoted by the town and the province.

Difficulty: Hard Elevation Gain: 2,729 m
Distance: 39.9 km Estimated Time: 17-18.5 hr

This ascent route climbs the rugged, mountainous interior of the Bataan Peninsula toward Mount Santa Rosa, an extinct parasitic cone of Mount Natib.

The terrain is characterized by a humid, tropical environment, with footing consisting of rough, deeply eroded earth and exposed root systems of the dense rainforest.

The path winds through a challenging mix of old-growth and residual forests, often alongside streams that lead to waterfalls like Pasukulan Falls. The high humidity and frequent rainfall (May to October) create persistently slippery and muddy conditions on the trail.

Difficulty: Hard Elevation Gain: 966 m
Distance: 28.6 km Estimated Time: 8.5-9.5 hr

Considered to be one of the most challenging trails in the province of Bataan, this one usually starts near Petron Gasoline Station along Governor Pascual Road and ends at the summit of Mount Santa Rosa.

If you are looking for a trail that is just a few hours away from the metro, this one is recommended for you.

Difficulty: Moderate Elevation Gain: 353 m
Distance: 15.9 km Estimated Time: 4-4.5 hr

This trail going to Mount Silanganan usually starts nearby the Shell gasoline station along Juna Luna street. You will pass by some churches along the way that signal that you are in the right track.

Near Mount Silanganan is another destination called the Bataan Peak. After doing this trail, it is a nice thing to visit the Vietnamese restaurant near the starting point where some of the local movie industry stars in the Philippines also dine in.

Difficulty: Hard Elevation Gain: 1,192 m
Distance: 29.3 km Estimated Time: 9.5-10.5 hr

This trail usually starts near Shell Gasoline Station along Juan Luna Street, close to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It traverses the Morong River and has steep uphill features towards the end of the trail.

The summit will reward you with an amazing view of the mountain and its surrounding forests.
